Editor’s note: Drawing on feedback she received through the medical anthropology listserv, Betsey Brada (now a postdoc at Princeton University) put together this excellent reading list of the anthropological literature on American medical education. The bibliography includes works by medical anthropologists, social and cultural historians, as well as physician-writers like Atul Gawande and Jerome Groopman. A very useful resource for teaching or research.
