Colin Clark

Colin Clark is Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) and Professor of Sociology and Social Policy in the School of Education and Social Sciences at the Univeristy of the West of Scotland (UWS). His main areas of research are located within migration and ethnic and racial studies, with a specialist interest in Romani Studies. He has published widely in these fields over the last thirty years and has supervised and examined several PhD students. Outside of UWS, Colin is a director and board member of the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights, based in Glasgow, Scotland, and is a Trustee of Romano Lav (Roma Voice). He is also a committee member of The Traveller Movement, the Scottish Human Rights Commission, and the Advisory Council for the Education of Romanies and other Travellers. Most recently, in November 2024, Colin was elected to the Barvalipe Academy, the steering group for the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture.
