Wei-Hsiang Liao, MD, MS, is a psychiatrist from Taiwan and a PhD student in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University. His research interests lie in cultural psychiatry, psychological anthropology, and the governance of mental health, with a particular focus on how depression and suicide are understood and managed in Taiwan and East Asia.
