Thandeka Cochrane
Thandeka Cochrane is a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the Wellcome funded ‘Cartographies of Cancer’ project in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at King’s College London. She is a social anthropologist with a keen interest in knowledge cultures in Africa. She is currently researching the colonial history of cancer registries in Africa and the British Empire Cancer Campaign and has published several research articles based on this work, 'Grammars of Progress and Pathology: A Recursive History of Africa, Cancer, and “Diseases of Civilization”' and 'The Model Multiple: Representing Cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa'. She is a co-convenor of the Political Stakes of Cancer Network.
